Let's Move!

paddlingsmall.jpgWhether strolling through historic downtown Savannah or jogging around Lake Mayer, our community offers so many beautiful venues which encourage being physically active. From Tybee Island beach to Scott Sell Park and everything in between, the environment of the coastal empire offers an abundance of parks, trails, bike paths and waterways.

The virtues of incorporating physical activity into daily life are well established through numerous studies and reports. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention continues to monitor the effects of inactivity and how it relates to obesity in the United States. By analyzing trends, the CDC has labeled obesity as an epidemic.

cyclingsmall.jpgBeing active doesn't mean we have to run five miles, take an aerobics class or lift weights each day. Improving daily activity can be as simple as biking to the grocery store or taking the stairs rather than the elevator. We hope you will use the links on this right side of this page to serve as resources for becoming more active!
